WASHINGTON, D.C. - As food and drink enthusiasts descend up the nation's capital on June 8 and 9, DC Brau Brewing Co. will be among the 74 small and independent craft brewers participating at SAVORSM: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience in Washington, D.C.
Presented by the Brewers Association, SAVOR is the premier beer and food pairing event in the U.S. In its fifth year running, SAVOR provides guests the chance to sample craft beers from eight geographic regions across the country. To complement the craft beers, attendees will enjoy a reception-style sampling of delicious sweet and savory appetizers from a menu designed by Brewers Association culinary consultant Adam Dulye, Chef/Owner of The Monk's Kettle and The Abbot's Cellar in San Francisco, and a select group of chefs specializing in beer and food pairings.
"Winning a spot in this year's lottery is more than we could have hoped for. We are honored to represent SAVOR's hometown," said Brandon Skall, CEO of DC Brau Brewing Co.
"As the premier event for craft beer and food lovers, SAVOR is a unique opportunity to try great food paired with brews from small producers that ordinarily only distribute locally," says Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director, Brewers Association. "In addition to meeting the principals behind the breweries, attendees have an opportunity to learn about a vast array of craft beer topics courtesy of SAVOR's educational salons. It's a truly fantastic event for any beer lover."
Craft brewers continue to see increased sales and growing market share, along with praise for their small-batch beers, despite the fact that overall beer industry sales have declined.
During SAVOR, DC Brau Brewing Co. will be serving The Citizen BPA and The Corruption IPA paired with Rhubarb Crisp with Lavender Honey and Maine Lobster Pot Stickers with Pickled Peppers and Green Garlic Relish.
